This case is a clear example of the importance of regular follow-up and maintenance in patients who undergo implant treatment, particularly in high risk patients, like the one we show here. This is a patient diagnosed with and treated for aggressive periodontitis, and who after receiving complex periodontal and restoration treatment with implants, does not return to the clinic for seven years. At that time, she presents with significant periodontal disease recurrence and moderate to severe peri-implantitis in all of her implants. The authors of this clinical case describe the periodontal and peri-implant treatments performed and offer us the keys to performing proper follow-up and maintenance in this type of patients.
